Michigan will now follow one single standard for lighting and lighting controls. Something to note among the changes, according to Legrand, a global provider of electrical and digital infrastructure for buildings, there is no longer an option to choose between the ASHRAE 90.1-2007 or IECC 2009 standards. The change represents the first commercial energy efficiency code update in more than six years for the State of Michigan. On September 20, 2017, a significant change to the 2015 Michigan Energy Code took effect regarding commercial buildings, and lighting controls.
